I am still working on the scarves, but have decided to make a few other things as well. I am making coasters from the left over scarps from the scarves. Here is one I made for myself.
I have begun experimenting with other yarn types. I am making wash clothes out of cotton. I have found that cotton is much harder to work with than acrylic (I used acrylic for the coasters and scarves).
I think it came out pretty good, although I did undo it a few times before I got it just right.
I love to work on all different types of crafts - scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, painting, stained glass, reupholstering, etc.

Crocheting
I recently learned how to crochet. I watched a youtube video and that was it.

I have decided to make scarves for the women and children in my family for Christmas. I have only been crocheting for a month and have so far done 6. It's really fun and relaxing.
Pictures to come!

Daisies
I've been looking for something to make my apartment feel more like spring, but was having trouble finding anything I liked. A friend gave me a pink vase, because she knows I love pick. So I went to Michael's in search of silk flowers, because I do not have a green thumb. Well it turns out they were having a sale. So I got three bushels of daisies - bright pink, light pink, and white. I cut them apart so each flower was on it's own. I also used left over rocks from my bamboo plant (the only kind of plant I can't kill, lol).
This is what I created. And the whole thing only cost me $12. I think it came out really nice!

Stained Glass
Today, I was going through old pictures. I found this one of the stained glass work I did in grad school. I loved that class! I'm not new to stained glass, I took a few classes in high school. But I loved the opportunity to get back into it.
I really want to get back into doing stained glass. When I have the room and the money for the equipment I'll definitely start up again. I'd really love to make things and sell them in a booth somewhere, at a craft show, or even online. It's one of my many passions.

Scrapbooking - Me & Kevin
I have started working on the scrapbook of my boyfriend and I. I got the album as a gift from my mom. I started some of the pages this past weekend. Here's what I have so far ...
There will be more to come ...

Pillow
I had two small pillows that were getting kinda "pilly" but kept them in the closet. I used the left over fabric from the bench to recover the old pillows. I put both pillows in together, because they had gotten a bit flat.
And here's the result ...
I think it came out pretty good ... considering I don't have a sewing machine, and stitched the whole thing by hand.

Reupholstering
I bought this bench (on the right) on Craigslist about 2 weeks ago. I really liked the lines and the legs, but the fabric doesn't go with my stuff, so I'm going to reupholster it.
I bought a pillowcase set for an accent pillow awhile back and I'm going to use the other pillowcase one on the bench.
And it's all done ...

Christmas 2011
I made this flower out of duct tape. I made it for Ashley (family member). She asked my sister if I could make her one. She has seen one on the end of a waitresses pen. So I made it for her.
I got this mini model of the Golden Gate Bridge for Christmas. It's about 5-6" long. It was about 20 pieces to put together. I have loved the Golden Gate Bridge since I was 12 years old. My mom bought it for my for Christmas. It was a lot of fun to put together.
A Little Sewing
I made this little pouch from an old pair of jeans. I had the ribbon already, and thought it'd make a great pouch. I use this little pouch for my ipod and headphones.
The ribbon has cherries on it, which coordinate with the red strip on the pants pockets.
Fleur-de-Lis
I also love fleur-de-lis's. This little tray was all the dark-ish black color. I painted the fleur-de-lis, so they'd be accents. I wanted them to stand out more. I use this tray for my car keys.
I bought this fleur-de-lis hook for my apartment, but it was also a dark-black color. I painted it the similar "renaissance gold" color. I really like this color.
Silver Accents
I love silver accents. I bought this piece, because I love glass door knobs, and it doubles as a hanger (I use it to hang my umbrella). I added silver paint to the accent swirls, and now it looks so much better!
I have always loved skeleton keys, and love black and silver accessories. I saw this piece and the background was an off-white, and the lock and key were a rusty color. I loved the design, but hated the colors. So I repainted the whole thing.
This next piece started off all white, but again, I don't really like white. So I started off painting the main part black. I then painted the "lock" part silver. I then dry-brushed silver on the black portions to make it "antiqued".
Christmas 2010
I got this for Christmas last year, and it was all white. I loved the shape, but am not a fan of white accessories. So I decided to paint it.
Early Work
I want to share some of my early craftiness. This is a mirror that was originally all black. I added the silver gilding. I did this project when I was in grad school.
I painted this plate at "Paint Your Own Pottery" with a couple of my girlfriends. I love red, black, and white things for my kitchen, and I also love cherries. So this is a combo piece for the kitchen.
More pieces to come ...
